[98:3]  1 tn Heb “he remembers his loyal love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel.”

[98:3]  2 tn Heb “the deliverance of our God,” with “God” being a subjective genitive (= God delivers).

[102:13]  3 tn The imperfect verbal forms are understood as expressing the psalmist’s confidence in God’s intervention. Another option is to take them as expressing the psalmist’s request or wish, “You, rise up and have compassion!”

[136:13]  4 tn Or “cut.”

[136:13]  5 tn Heb “Reed Sea” (also in v. 15). “Reed Sea” (or “Sea of Reeds”) is a more accurate rendering of the Hebrew expression יָם סוּף (yam suf), traditionally translated “Red Sea.” See the note on the term “Red Sea” in Exod 13:18.

[136:13]  6 tn Heb “into pieces.”

[136:15]  7 tn Or “shook off.”

[136:23]  8 tn Heb “who, in our low condition, remembered us.”

[143:12]  9 tn Heb “in [or “by”] your faithfulness.”

[143:12]  10 tn The perfect with vav (ו) consecutive carries on the mood of the preceding imperfect.

[143:12]  11 tn Heb “all the enemies of my life.”
